Bits and Bytes – Proposed Legislation Impacting Web and Mobile Content

Access has long been a concern for people with disabilities and digital accessibility is a critical aspect of inclusion. In 2023, the Department of Justice announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding the accessibility of digital experiences under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which requires state and local governments’ services, programs, and activities be accessible to people with disabilities. Pennsylvania also reintroduced legislation requiring accessible digital content on all state and local government websites
