Crop duster dies in Juneau County crash MAUSTON (AP) The pilot of a crop dusting plane is dead after it crashed just north of New Lis- bon in Clearfield Township.

Juneau County authorities received a call on Monday afternoon that a plane flying in the area had crashed. Authorities found a 55-year- old man piloting the plane, and he was prounced dead at a hos- pital. Mauston is about 75 miles northwest of Madison. Mary Rose will be deeply missed by her husband, Thomas whom she married May 18, 1968, and her children, Christine (Adam) McCartney of Oconomowoc, James (Stephanie) of Greendale, Eric (Sherri) of Wauwatosa and David of Mil- waukee. She is the loving grand- mother of Curran, Casey, Kayleigh, Madelyn, Logan and Kameron. John was born in Waukesha, the son of Louis and Rose (nee Milleti) Champan. John was a World War II Navy veteran and was a retiree from Quality Aluminum, with 34 years of service and where he had served as past president of his union local. John was preceded in death by his loving wife, Viola Champan, and his son, Thomas Champan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Victor, Cordy and Michael Champan, and his sister, Viola Polzien. John is survived by his daugh- ter, Patty (Gil) Glodoski of Camp- bellsport, his dear friend and companion, Marie Gorski (fiancee), and her loving family.

Richard E. Offerman D.D.S June 28, 1935 May 2, 2008 r. Richard E. Offerman D.D.S. passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, at age 72.

He was born June 28, 1935, in Madison. He was the husband and best friend of Jacqueline (nee Davies); beloved dad of Cindy (Scott) Smith of Colorado Springs, Stephen (Maureen) Offerman of Milwaukee, John (Lisa) Behling of Knoxville, Scott Offerman of Colorado Springs and Nicholas (Dr. Shannon) Offerman of Cincinnati; and loving grandfa- ther of Emily and Ellen Smith, Anthony Offerman and Kaitlyn and Lauren Behling. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jean Davies; brother-in-law, Jef- frey (Carol) Davies; his aunt, Pauline Nichols of Walworth; his cousins, Anne, Bud (Peggy) and Jay Nichols; other relatives and many friends. Dr.

Offerman was preceded in death by his parents, Offerman and Gertrude (nee Nichols) Offerman, and his uncle, Donald Nichols. Dr. Offerman had a private orthodontics practice in Wauke- sha for 38 years and also practiced in Wales. Dr. retired in 2001.

He attended Randall Grade School in Waukesha and was a 1953 graduate of Waukesha High School. After entering Carroll Col- lege in Waukesha, Dr. Offerman was affiliated with Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, was president of his fraternity pledge class and was elected to the Beta, Beta, Beta Honorary Biological Society. He participated in varsity athletics, including basketball, wrestling and tennis and was a member of the Club society. In 1956, Dr.

Offerman entered Marquette University Dental School in Milwaukee and was affiliated with the Delta Sigma Delta professional dental fraterni- ty. He graduated from Marquette University Dental School in 1960. Dr. Offerman interned in oral surgery from 1960 to 1961 at Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, N.Y. From 1961 to 1963, he did post-graduate work in orthodontic education at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, N.Y.

He was licensed to practice den- tistry in Wisconsin and New York. In 1963, he began private prac- tice in Waukesha. Dr. Offerman was a member of the following: Wisconsin Dental Association, Waukesha County Dental Society, State Bureau of Handicapped Children, American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodon- tists, Wisconsin Society of Ortho- dontists and the International Association of Aesthetic Ortho- dontists (invitation only). He was past president of the Waukesha County Dental Society; a member of the Council on Prac- tice Administration of the Ameri- can Association of Orthodontics; past president of the Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists; chair- man of the scholarship committee and a member of the board of directors of the National Founda- tion; chairman of the dental health and education committee and a member of the board of directors of the Waukesha County Dental Society; a delegate from the Waukesha County Dental Soci- ety for the Wisconsin Dental Asso- ciation; a member of the Ameri- can Association of Orthodontists Task Force on Orthodontic Insur- ance; president of the Eastman Orthodontic Alumni Association; and chairman of peer review for the Wisconsin Orthodontic Soci- ety for seven years.

Dr. Offerman was an associate professor and lecturer at the Mar- quette University School of Den- tistry, Graduate School of Ortho- dontics from 1965 to 1973 and was presently a guest lecturer at the dental school. His publications included Diastema Closing in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics in July 1984; Considera- tions for Orthodontic Procedures by Both the General Practitioner and the in the Wis- consin Dental Association Journal in May 1968; and Assyme- try in Cleft Palate in Cleft Palate Journal in 1963. A memorial visitation for Dr. Offerman will be held from 5 p.m.

A hus- band reported two angel statues on his grave were smashed and a bronze vase was ripped from the gravesite. 6:57 a.m. Friday: A 27-year-old male was arrested on a warrant, domes- tic violence-related battery and reck- lessly causing injury to a child after get- ting into a fight with his live-in girlfriend in the 18400 block of Pleasant Street. According to police, the argument was over drug use. During the argument, the 7-year-old daughter was slammed against the wall.
